First, you will need to familiarize yourself with Moodle as a Learning Management System.

Your Moodle instance can be found here: http://leading2learn.ca/viu_moodle_educators/

Currently, the most up-to-date version of Moodle is 2.6. (2.7 is coming in May, 2014) Videos and tutorials for Moodle 2.4, 2.5 and 2.6 would be helpful to you.

Note: Your instructor has provided you more resources than you need on this page. Peruse the resources to find the ones that work for you. Alternately, rely on the members of your team to share their knowledge with you.

Tutorials and Documentation:

In the chart of the various Moodle aspect choices below, you will see links to tutorial documentation. It is sometimes easier to follow videos. When there is no video available, it is recommended that you see if the sites above have what you need or finding what you require through research. The version of Moodle which you will be using is Moodle 2.6, but tutorials on 2.4 and higher would work fine.

You have been provided a Moodle course at http://leading2learn.ca/viu_moodle_educators/. If you do not have a Moodle Instance in your district, you may use this instance for as long as you like. The server housing this instance of Moodle is in Vancouver, so no need to worry about U.S. servers.

In the chart below are some areas requiring research, practice and presentation for your team. Together you will need to decide who will be responsible for which area(s).

Select one or more of these areas to be covered. Each area has been given an approximate difficulty level so that you can decide together who would best suit which area.

SCORM package

This is a complex process that you may or may not want to try. If you do wish to attempt to use SCORM packages, I recommend you use EXELearning to develop your SCORM compliant content package. This tool is free to download and use and is remarkably user-friendly. EXELearning allows you to create pages of content and quizzes in small, student-friendly chunks, and then export for import to Moodle. As this is one of the easier tools to use to generate an IMS package, I recommend it be part of your presentation to your team.
